Forest certification under the requirements of the rules of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) they are excellent tools to promote the conservation of forests and the maintenance and enhancement of forest biodiversity. On the other hand, the certification of the chain of custody is a key piece to ensure against market the origin of the raw materials that we use.

The Sarao Factory, S. L. U. is aware of the impact their buying decisions on the forests they are nurtured as of the importance of promoting among their suppliers a responsible forest management and the rights of workers. In consequence, The Sarao Factory, S. L. U. undertakes to avoid any kind of direct or indirect relationship with activities such as:

– The exploitation of illegal timber, or the illegal commercialization of forest products or forest;

– The violation of human rights and traditional in forestry operations;

– The destruction of large values of conservation activities of forest exploitation;

– The conversion of natural forests to plantations or non-forest uses;

– The introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;

– Violation of any of the ILO Core Conventions, as defined in the ILO Declaration on fundamental principles and rights at work, 1998.

The Sarao Factory, S. L. U. likewise, it undertakes to comply with the commitments and social security and health established in the current legislation, such as:

– Allow workers to associate freely, to choose representatives and to collective bargaining.

– Respect the legal minimum age for contract (16 years).

– Comply with the legal requirements of health and safety at work, as well as not make use of forced labour.

– Respecting basis of equality of opportunity and treatment of workers.
